Pryor Fine Art is proud to present new work by California artist, Jeff Faust and Nashville artist, Charlotte Terrell, July 12th – July 31st.

Jeff describes his work as “subtle surrealism” or “visual forms of the written word.” His paintings often feature odd juxtapositions – a combination of clouds, ropes, leaves, eggs and other objects and settings that hint at some form of narrative. “The paintings, or the images, can be simplistic, but they have that gentle surrealistic thing in there, too,” says Faust. “There are various stories in these images. They offer various stories to various people.”

Charlotte’s work are idealized landscapes of fictional places intended to be universally familiar to the viewer, a present moment in time. I love working with the tactile nature of the plaster, the labor of polishing the surface, revealing layers, pooling juicy paint, and pouring glossy translucent glazes over the surface.
