The first exhibition at Thomas Deans Fine Art, “New Year / New Works,” opens on January 22 and presents the paintings of three established artists new to the gallery, Chris Hayman, Sam Nejati, and Lisa Pressman. All three artists are rich colorists whose abstract canvases are imbued with a sense of mystery.

Chris Hayman’s abstract images combine vibrant color with expressive texture and handling. She finds her inspiration in the landscape around her farm in northern California. Sam Nejati came to the United States from Iran, and he finds inspiration in the rich cultural heritage of his homeland. He now lives in the San Francisco area. New Jersey artist Lisa Pressman makes her paintings through an intuitive dialog between deliberate and random marks, evoking time and memory.
