Alan Avery Art Company
Established in 1981, ALAN AVERY ART COMPANY celebrates 40 years as the oldest sustained contemporary art gallery in Atlanta. The gallery occupies 8000 sq ft of exhibition space located in the first building on the left as you turn onto Miami Circle.
The artists represented by ALAN AVERY ART COMPANY are noted for two distinct factors when describing their work:
- The artist’s creations are their voice and how they see the world around them, and they bring the viewer along to places that they might not have gone on their own.
- Other represented artists are technique driven – pushing the limits of how far the medium can be forced to go past previous perceived limits.
Another focus and career long effort by the gallery has been to exhibit women and women of color who have been under served.
Mr. Avery has an extensive love and personal relationship with American Pop Art and its artists. As a result the gallery has brought many significant works and exhibitions by some of the most noted including, Roy Lichtenstein, Andy Warhol, Keith Haring and Jean-Michell Basquiat, and also artists following this genre but often associated, including Robert Rauschenberg, Jim Dine, Chuck Close, Alex Katz, Donald Sultan and Gregory Botts.
